can tolerate water or heat. Be especially careful with:
Pearls
and mother-of-pearl: They are organic and extremely delicate. Never soak or brush them! Only wipe them with a slightly damp, soft cloth.
Glued stones (often found in costume jewelry): Water that is too hot can loosen the glue, causing the stones to fall out.
